Doctor Kram began his undergraduate and medical education in Florida, where he grew up. After graduating with High Honors from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1977, Dr. Kram received his Medical Degree from the University of Florida Medical School in 1981. It was during Dr. Kram's senior year in medical school that his interest in saving legs was born, when he was the first to monitor leg circulation during vascular surgery using transcutaneous oxygen monitoring. This research was published in a major medical journal and launched Dr. Kram on his lifelong dedication and commitment to saving legs threatened by peripheral vascular disease and diabetes.

Not without distinction, his internship in Surgery was completed at Louisiana State University, New Orleans with subsequent residencies in Surgery at L.A. County-Harbor/UCLA Medical Center and L.A. County-King/Drew Medical Center, Los Angeles. Additional fellowships in Vascular Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, New York; Trauma Surgery at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Los Angeles; and Critical Care Medicine at L.A. County-King/ Drew Medical Center, Los Angeles were also completed.

During that time, Dr. Kram was honored with over a dozen awards in surgery including the Society of Critical Care Medicine Surgeons Award, National Medical Association Surgery Award, American College of Surgeons Trauma Award, Los Angeles Surgical Society Merit Award, Long Island Jewish Medical Center Current Vascular Surgery State of the Art Award, and Society of Biomaterials Outstanding Research Award. He has published over 100 medical journal articles and book chapters in surgery and was selected for distinction in "Who's Who in America", "Who's Who in California" and "Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare."

Since 1991, Dr. Kram has served as Medical Director of LEGSAVERS in Torrance, California. There he remains enthusiastically committed and extremely involved in both community and medical affairs, with one purpose..
